IT’S TIME TO END FA
The cure for FA seems very close
Friedreich's Ataxia is an inherited neuromuscular condition caused by the underproduction of a key protein called frataxin. Without enough frataxin, cells in the body have trouble functioning correctly, particularly nerve and heart cells. Excitingly, progress is being made on many fronts and there is a growing pipeline of promising treatments being explored. For anyone affected by FA, a cure can't come quick enough.
LET’S FIND A CURE
Our mission is simple, but it’s not easy
Our mission is to end FA by supporting the global community already dedicated to this goal, encouraging new people to join the community and accelerating the work in any way possible.
TIME IS NEURONS
All initiatives that drive progress are good initiatives
FA gets worse with time, so we're in a hurry. Connecting a community of ideas is powerful - it can accelerate progress. Whether it be academic researchers, large pharmaceutical companies, small biotech firms, active parents and FAers' themselves, we all have a role to play.
